The second step, to ask God to forgive you and ask to receive the gift He's already given..Jesus's sacrifice.
Most importantly, you must truly mean this in your heart. This is not a magical incantaion, only a stepping stone. God says that a good tree can only produce good fruit. Please don't claim Christ's forgiveness and continue to live your life in sin. Don't be led into believing that saying these words (or words of your own) will magically get you to heaven. If you don't follow through with God's plan for your life, these words are just words.
"God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross at Calvary, and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in Jesus' precious and holy name. Amen."
Lastly, I strongly urge that if you aren't part of a church that you seek one out. There will be people there to help you develop your relationship with God and to help you recognize what God can do through you.
Christina, you have a gift that God has given and I know that He expects you to use it to glorify Him and I know you will .Continue to pray for God's will for you and He will speak to you through His word. I love you , mom
